10-06-09 - Three Peaks Challenge

Two teams of four Staveley employees supported by an additional four support team members bravely participated in the 7th annual COINS ‘3 Peaks Challenge’ 2009 which is a charity event exclusively for the construction industry which raises money to help the most excluded communities in the world.

The intrepid employees had to race against the clock in order to climb the UK’s three highest mountains Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within a challenging 24 hour time frame.

Both teams even though they had to battle against natures elements including wind, rain, low visibility and snow blizzards were both successful and completed the challenge within 23hr 38mins.

At a time when the industry is reeling from the impact of the credit crunch a staggering total amount of £260,000 has been pledged with the Staveley team raising an impressive of £ 7000.00 which came from individual sponsorship, cake sales and casual clothes days.

A special well done is well deserved to the whole team.

As such a great time was had by everyone we are already thinking about pulling a team together for next year.
