24-11-08 - Britannia Additional Accommodation
SPIE WHS are undertaking work on the Britannia Additional Accommodation (BAA) project on behalf of Britannia Operator Limited, this work started in July 2008. The BAA project shall be progressed on the provision of a new block of modular accommodation on a cantilever on the west face of the existing accommodation module on the installation of an external Drillers Sluice Module. The provision of a new an additional TEMPSC and associated modifications to increase the capacity of the Temporary Refuge (Muster area) are additional options to the base scope.
This project will increase bed space on the rig and will bring the total of the Britannia platform capacity from 137 to 165 persons on board. Office accommodation will be made for 8 people and Drillers Sluice Module will be on Level 1, incorporating a Fire Team Emergency Station.
November 2008 the Drillers Sluice Module was transported offshore and put in place on the rig. The TEMPSC will follow in January 2009. Dismantling the Modules / Tempsc will commence and reassemble will begin from January 2009 to March 2009.
