Wear Valley Water Treatment Works

On the 26th November 2003 the Wear valley Water Treatment Works was connected to the water network and started delivering water to its customers.

This follows an intense eight months during which EI.WHS have successfully carried out the process electrical and instrumentation installation; designed, installed and commissioned the building services fire alarms, heating and ventilation systems throughout the whole works and provided commissioning assistance to Northumbrian Water to enable them to complete the project to specification and on time.

The Wear Valley Water Treatment Works is located adjacent to the village of Wearhead in upper Weardale and is approximately 50 miles by road from the Thornaby office. The treated water from the works supplies customers along the whole length of the Wear Valley, which meanders its way through lots of villages and small towns on its way down to Sunderland.

Everyone who has been involved with this project, from the Thornaby project and design engineers to the supervisors and operatives, can be proud of both the quality of the installation and their part in achieving a successful conclusion for Northumbrian Water.

Northumbrian Water has sent EI.WHS a letter of thanks which states…

“This is a fantastic achievement and is a credit to all those involved with the project. We would not have been able to do this without the dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism of your teams.” What more can you say?
