Fairlop and Snaresbrook LUL Stations

As part of the ongoing refurbishment and modernization of 143 LUL Stations under the Metronet PPP agreement, EI-WHS carried out the electrical works at both Fairlop and Snaresbrook Stations simultaneously.

The works incorporated upgrades to the incoming supplies, new switch rooms and UPS supplies, platform lighting and extensive new electrical and communications containment throughout.

Station control rooms and booking offices were extensively refurbished without ever having to close the stations.

The works were carried out on both day and night shifts with accurate communication between day and night being the key to successful completion of contracts.

Nights could be particularly difficult, normally with only a 3.5 hour window to carry out works, with major works ie; changeover of incoming supplies being carried out on a Saturday night where we had 4 hours!
