Walsgrave Hospital

Following the birth of the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust from the former Walsgrave Hospital NHS Trust a plan for a new single state-of-the-art 1200 bed teaching hospital to replace the outdated conglomeration of 1960’s buildings that made up the existing Walsgrave General Hospital was conceived.
Skanska Innisfree’s consortium obtained the PFI contract for the £400M redevelopment of the existing Hospital Site which included a Central Power Services Building, a Clinical Sciences Block (9,500Mt2), Acute Ward Blocks A/B/C/D (120,000 Mt2) & a Mental Health Unit (13,300 Mt2).
EI.WHS were appointed as Electrical Services Contractor on Acute Ward Blocks C & D with a contract value of £5M.
The works entailed the provision of:
- Mains Distribution Services
- Sub Distribution Services
- Lighting Installation utilizing modular wiring products & techniques
- Small Power Installations utilising modular wiring products & techniques
- Primary Containment Installations
- Nurse Call/Fire Alarm/BMS Wiring Containment
